Different || Love Differently

The love of Jesus was never meant to look ordinary. It reaches beyond convenience, moves beyond emotion, and extends even to those who are difficult to love. When we understand how extravagantly God has loved us, His love begins to reshape the way we respond to everyone around us.

In this message, Pastor Alex continues the Different series by asking what it looks like to love differently in our everyday lives. Through 1 Corinthians 13 and the example of Jesus, we discover that love is more than a feeling or good intention. It is a way of life that reflects the character of God, directs our actions, and gives us the strength to release offenses and extend grace.

As you listen, you’ll encounter:

  • Reflecting the love of God — recognizing that genuine love flows from our relationship with Christ and reflects His unconditional, purposeful, and sacrificial love toward others.

  • Allowing love to guide your life — examining the motives behind our actions and learning to choose patience, kindness, humility, and service rather than allowing feelings, preferences, or offenses to determine whom we love.

  • Choosing two mile love — discovering what it means to go beyond what is expected by loving our enemies, releasing offenses, pursuing forgiveness, and overcoming evil with good.

Jesus demonstrated a different way to love. He washed the feet of the one who would betray Him, entrusted purpose to the one who would deny Him, and offered forgiveness even from the cross. His example reminds us that Kingdom love does not stop where comfort ends. It chooses to go the extra mile.

Listen now and discover how receiving the extravagant love of God can transform the way you love, forgive, serve, and reflect Jesus to the people around you.
